County Cub Bushcraft Day

20160319_123833 1I really enjoyed the bushcraft day, I was chosen to raise the flag to begin the opening of the day, that was a bit scary in front of so many people, but an honour to do so.

We were put into groups of 6 people to go round and do each activity, there was rope making, plaster casts, cooking, fire basics, and shelter building, my favourite was lighting the fire we learnt to use tools we hadn’t seen before.

Thank you to Akela,  Baloo, and everyone who helped and were involved for such a fantastic day.

‘I had the best Day ever’

It started really early in the morning and I was really tired, but as the day went on I filled with energy. 12th Letchworth joined us because they didn’t have a leader to walk them around.

Our first activity was camp gadgets. We had to choose what we wanted to make out of bamboo and make it. We chose a table. We also did other activities: rope making, cooking over an open fire, plaster casting, shelter building but my favourite was fire lighting as it was fun to see the fire. Some of us named it Mr Burn.

I had a really fantastic, but long day. Thanks to the leaders for taking us and I definitely want to go again.

Bush craft was really fun,I enjoyed all the activities, but especially the fire building and den making. Cooking in the open fire was really good too!

Thank you to all the cub leaders and cubs-

Nihal 🙂
