Our trip started very early Friday morning. We set off from Stevenage and went to King Cross. As soon as we arrived we went to St Pancras for the Eurostar. I went through the bagging control and then had to show my passport. We ate our breakfast on the way to Brussels. As soon as we arrived we went by tram to Antwerp. We dropped our bags off at the hostel and went exploring. We saw the cathedral, town hall, splash area, castle and chocolate factory! I enjoyed all of the sight seeing. In the evening we went to a chicken restaurant and I had a burger. In the evening we went to a park before going back to the hostel to go to bed. On Saturday we went to Antwerp Zoo and I got my Silver Award. I liked all the animals I saw but especially the aquarium and the butterfly enclosure. Then we went on the Eurostar and we got to St Pancras and we went on a train to Stevenage. Thank you for taking me.

Friday 1st August the Letchworth contingent(3 leaders &10 cubs) met at DHQ at 5am to be taken by minibus to Stevenage railway station. Meeting up with some more leaders and cubs from Stevenage and Royston. We all caught the train to London Kings Cross and then walked to meet everyone else at St Pancras Euro Star terminal. In total 11 leaders and 42 cubs left from St Pancras heading to Brussels and then on a connecting train to Antwerp.
After arriving at Antwerp railway station been walked to the scoutel hostel having our lunch on the grass outside. All rucksacks were left at the hostel and we all went for a cultural walk around Antwerp. We visited the royal square and cathedral so the cubs could buy gifts. Following this with walked to the river and had ice cream.
We caught a tram back to the railway station and went back to the hostel to sort out our rooms and get ready for our evening out. Firstly we went to a restaurant and had a meal followed by finding a play area in a local park. All cubs managed to get a good night’s sleep.
Saturday was another fun filled day. Continental breakfast followed by packing rucksacks. We left all our rucksacks at the hostel and headed of to Antwerp zoo. While at the zoo Richard Haynes (ACC Cubs) presented Erin, Ben and Lily with their chief scouts silver award.
We left the zoo at 3pm to collect our rucksacks and head by train to Brussels. Following a hectic tea at the Brussels railway station we caught eurostar back to St Pancras.
All arriving safe and sound at Stevenage railway stn at 10pm.
A hectic but enjoyable trip to Brussels with our cubs..
