Cub Summer Camp @ Ferny Crofts

Ferny croft was such an amazing experience, I was so nervous and excited at the same time as it was a long time away from my family, but I can honestly say every part was enjoyable, we started the week by arriving at the campsite and setting up all the tents, aOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAnd settling in, the next day we did some activities like crate building, abseiling, rock climbing and the zip wire and many more, my favourite that day was abseiling I was so pleased I was brave enough to do it. We had a day trip to monkey world which was brilliant seeing all the different monkeys. We also had a trip to the beach, the weather was perfect we built dams in the sand and played in the sea, and at the end of the day we were treated to sausage and chips and an ice cream, YUMMY !
On the Saturday we done some more activities, like rafting in a messy boggy lake, it was great fun but my nickname is now is “pond stink” according to my parents.
The food was delicious we were fed really well, Akela your eggy bread is amazing, and Fern made a very good hot chocolate.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this experience one to remember and looking after us so well.

Camp was awesome! I especially enjoyed the raft building and crate stacking. Monkey World was really good. Thank you to all the leaders for a great camp. It was my longest Cub camp and I was a bit worried about being away from home for so long, but it was fun.

Camping was fun.on the day we got there we set up our tents and played football after.
On the next day we did zip wire, den building and crate stacking, that evening we had a bad thunder storm.
On Thursday we went to monkey world and saw orangutang’s and invested in front of the monkeys.
Friday we went to the seaside and ate fish n chips followed by ice cream.
On Saturday I did some abseiling this was my favourite part of the week followed by some rafting.

Ben

I had such a brilliant time at Fearny Croft with Cubs.
The activities were zip wires, climbing, playing at the beach, exploring monkey world while learning things about it, adventure course, crate stacking, shelter building and bouldering.

The leaders were very kind and protecting because they let me have a third or second serving before any one else and told people off because they were holding sticks, the leadaers just didn’t want them to get hurt.

It was special because it was my last camp.

Arkala’s hot chocolate is the best in my opinion.
I loved camps

From Kieron

The journey was long but good fun. On the way there, we listened to music and looked out the window. I sat with Callum. We stop at the services to have a sandwich.

At Fernycroft, we went abseiling, rock climbing and did a activity course. They were my favourite bits. Abseiling is hard and fun. Sleeping in a tent is fun too.

Monkey World was great. It is such a good idea to look after these monkey that have been saved.

We laughed a lot and did so many fun things. Thank you 8th Letchworth.

Guy

Before going I was very scared because it was my first week camp with the cubs but the young leaders and leaders helped me by talking about different things and taking my mind off it.
We went rock climbing, zip wire , adventure course ,raft building .we all so went to monkey world and the beach. I climbed to the top of wall.
It was very good, I would like to go again.
