25 Beavers, 3 Leaders, 4 parents, 1 Young Leader and 2 Duke of Edinburgh placement students all went on the District Beaver Day Out to Tolmers County Beaver Fun Day.
It was very busy when we arrived so after the opening ceremony we decided to split into 3 groups to ensure that all the Beavers got to go on as many things as possible without having to wait too long. We all met back up for lunch together.
The activities included coconut climbing trees, indoor and outdoor climbing walls, water wars, bungee run, bouncy castle, 2 inflatable assault courses, pedal go karts, trampolines, sucker cross bows, nerf guns, aeroball and crafts.
The craft was also pirate themed – bandanas, eye patched, parrots, rope making , hats, badges and lots more.
There was even a 4d pirate experience which involved being blindfolded and led, bare foot, through various ‘substances’ ! Ask your Beaver their thoughts on that one !
We all met back up for lunch and were entertained by a pirate show on the stage. It was very funny.
It was a very long and hot day but also great fun !
Here is what some of the Beavers had to say about it.
I liked it because it was good and we all got to dress up as pirates. We got to make our own pirate stuff like parrots, hats and eye patches. The best bit was the rock climbing and we climbed high up then dangled on the ropes and climbed back up again.

Thank you Dragonfly and Woodpecker, Robin, the parent helpers and the young leaders for taking us to Tolmers for the Beavers District Day out I had a grate time there was so much to do. I enjoyed the bean bag tossing game and the inflatable assault course a lot, but my favourite thing was climbing the coconut trees. I had so much fun I can’t wait to go again next year.
It was the best day of my beavering life. Ben
